One of the most difficult topics in Financial Planning is talking about our own mortality. Estate Planning is the phrase we use. But knowing how to be ready for 'your time' means much more than just your financial needs.
The importance of having instructions dictated by you (known as a Will) becomes more apparent as we age. With nearly 30 years of experience in helping those in the passing of a loved one, I can attest to the benefit of those who had been prepared compared to those who had not. Our team is available to help in this area and we have made it a priority to increase the awareness to our clients that discussing this with us may alleviate many of the questions that most of us will face. I encourage you to have this in mind for you and your family in 2026.
Along the same thought process, no one knows what the market will do. Thus, we have continued to take a defensive approach to our portfolio allocations while being active with our 'bottom up' process. The technical scans we use daily have led to some positive returns on a number of securities and have helped provide padding during some volatility we have expected. We believe this will continue into the November election period.
Last, but most importantly, our monthly verse reminds us all that just like no one knows when our time on this earth comes to an end, we must be prepared in all facets of our life. This makes the point for not only being prepared financially, but spiritually as well!
