Don’t Blink or You’ll Miss the Good Stuff

My daughter recently celebrated her third birthday and it made me think about a few Kenny Chesney songs.  His music isn’t always about “pirate flags and island girls” and some of his great ballads like “The Good Stuff” and “Don’t Blink” can really stop you in your tracks and make you reflect.  Money won’t buy you happiness, and a healthy attitude toward money can certainly help you have a more fulfilled life.  Watching my daughter dance around happily when she unwrapped her Elsa doll was a great reminder that spending a lot of money isn’t required to bring joy to our lives.  Don’t get me wrong, kids aren’t just never-ending joy dispensers, but I can say through my own eyes they have brought me some of the happiest moments in my life.  In my experience, nothing makes a client’s eyes light up like talking about their children, grandchildren, nieces, or nephews.  The song reminds us, “Cause when your hourglass runs out of sand, you can't flip over and start again.  Take every breath God gives you for what it's worth.  Don’t blink.”  Go put on some old school Kenny Chesney and see what I mean!
